Drink Lot of Water

Excess intake of diuretics can however, lead to dehydration, encouraging kidney stones. Hence plenty of water should be consumed after taking natural diuretics, to neutralize its dehydrating effect.
Coffee consumption is not directly linked to kidney stone formation. In fact, these have a diuretic effect and can actually aid in reducing one’s chances of developing stones. So a regular cup of coffee or tea in a day need not be eliminated, but because of their diuretic effect, they can cause dehydration which is associated with stone formation. Hence, taking in several glasses of water after one’s daily cuppa is recommended.
Increase urine acidity
Stones can develop in both alkaline as well as acidic urine, with a variation in the stone type. Kidney stones that develop in alkaline urine are usually the infection stones, which arise when the urinary tract gets infected. Individuals prone to frequent episodes of urinary tract infections will have an increased risk of developing multiple stones at a time. Balance Calcium Intake
When dietary calcium intake is low and high in oxalate rich foods, like spinach, beets, okra, eggplant, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, almost all beans and berry varieties, peanuts, and chocolates – calcium oxalate crystallization and stone formation can occur. Lower consumption of high oxalate producing foods and maintain good dietary calcium intake.
Increase Magnesium intake
But if calcium intake is in excess and magnesium consumption is low, this can again trigger stone formation. Magnesium works naturally towards preventing calcium kidney stones. Certain green leafy vegetables, fruits, bean varieties, peas, nuts, seeds, and unrefined grains are good sources of magnesium. Exception to this list is spinach, though is considered to be magnesium rich, it is also high in oxalates, go easy on them.
